auto-fix beta is here

Octomind Product Update, December 19, 2024

We want to give you our own version of Shipmas before we slow down for the end of the year. We have a special Christmas gift - we opened the AI auto-fix beta version for you to experiment with. It’s our thank you for sticking with us in 2024 and a promise to ship many more features in 2025.

The Good

We upgraded the Agent 🤖

Now, it:

  • considers multi-media sources in content extraction
  • supports transparent checkboxes
  • can handle drop-downs and checkboxes that close on scroll by

Organize your tests in folders 📁

We added a custom way to organize your test cases. If you don’t like the dependency tree view, you can use the folders view and arrange your tests in customizable folders.

‘Generate more’ feature enhanced ➕

‘Generate more’ is the feature where you tell the Agent to auto-generate up to 3 tests “following” the test you launched it from. It's a simple way to expand your test set really quickly. We added a second option - ‘create a new test from here’. This lets you prompt the Agent for a custom test with the originating test case as dependency.

The Bad

We shipped this amazing 2FA feature to let you authenticate with OTP. We were relying on the `otplib` library to generate the actual OTP at runtime. Turns out the library’s browser-bundle version had long-outdated dependencies. For half a day we produced invalid codes in our frontend.

The Complicated

We are knee deep in our SOC2 Type 2 certification process. Even with helpful tools like Vanta, the process can be an unnerving experience for many young startups. I can attest :S

The Highlight

End-to-end tests break often. Maintenance of a test suite can be more time consuming than the set-up and scripting combined. It is one of the reasons we started Octomind.

I’m really happy to announce we opened access to the first, beta version of the AI test auto-fix for all users. We want to collect feedback and fine tune it to your use cases to make it as helpful as possible. Please, try it out, poke into it and experiment - this is how.

Let me know how it went and what you missed in the process.

Btw, we moved further on the product documentation side, too.  We have 7 new written How to's and Guides and new Video Tutorials to complement written docs on our website. We will do many, many more.

Enjoy the festive season,
