Octomind is the brainchild of Marc Mengler and Daniel Rödler. Marc has been developing web apps to bring his machine learning research to users since 2015.

He met Daniel at his data labeling start-up Understand.ai. Daniel was previously responsible for GoTo Meeting - an online meeting web client that featured millions of users per day.

Testing was a critical part of the development routine in these companies, but no good solution existed to automate the process. They had to invest heavily in manual QA. Breaking functionality of the apps meant losing users and cash.

The genAI advancements led to a eureka moment in early 2023. Daniel’s vision of a solution to the testing problem leaned into Marc’s experience with scalable machine learning. They created Octomind to eliminate large parts of end-to-end testing.
